Due to China celebrating golden week incl. suppliers it's still not set in stone...

Edit: What I already do have incoming are 3 Delta FANs, a ROCKIT 88, some CLU and (soon) Fujipoly Pads, to make the 'Phoenix' the best that it can be.

Edit 2: I have also heard there is something called 'Prema Mod', but I am not sure how to get it...

You're going with a Prema Partner in HIDevolution, so don't lose too much sleep, your covered. In fact, you'd be covered by any of the partners so maticulously vetted by Prema.

If you didn't get your Clevo laptop thru a Prema partner, well, I wouldn't know what you would do... I guess there's always XTU or @unclewebb's Throttle Stop.

Benefits of Prema BIOS:

• The ability to disable other drives connected to your system without physically removing them from your laptop, this comes in handy when installing Windows as you never want to have more than one drive connected at the time you are installing Windows otherwise the Windows setup will place the boot files on the 2nd drive it sees which hurts performance and makes it a headache when creating system images or restoring since the boot files are not on the main drive.
• The ability to overclock, increase Turbo Power Limits and System IA/Core Current Limits
• The ability to enable Intel Speed Shift Technology (it is disabled in the stock BIOS)
• The ability to run RAM with speeds higher than the standard 2133 MHz. I am not talking about overclocking here, I am talking about actual RAM sticks that are rated to run at 2800 MHz for example like the G.Skill 64GB 2800 MHz kit I have. With the stock BIOS, they will not run above 2400 MHz. In the case of the P870DM3, the stock BIOS now supports up to 2666 MHz. I believe but not more, so the Prema BIOS is a must again
• The ability to enable CSM for those who want to install other OSes like Windows 7
• The ability to undervolt the CPU as the stock voltage is way too high which causes the CPU to overheat much quicker and thus throttle under load.
• The ability to enable or disable CPU AES instructions or Virtualization
• The ability to disable hibernation from the BIOS

Benefits of Prema VBIOS:

• Power throttle disabled
• Over-voltage slider enabled and adjusted (up to a maximum of 1.2v)
• Activated and adjusted thermal slider (to keep it cooler if desired)
• Core overclock slider limit raised
• Power consumption meter activated
• Fixed 3D voltage base-line in order to stabilize OCs and voltage-match both cards in SLI systems (based on average ASIC)
• Thermal protection @ 92c (once*91c are breached the system throttles volts and clocks in order to protect it)
• Protection against Furmark and Kombustor GPU burnout (AVOID those software even with stock vBIOS)!

So as Clevo machine just arrived here and I looked at its stock Clevo BIOS I`m stunned. What a misery, even super blocked and hash secured HP Elitebook BIOS have more options than this. Damn.

So I`m reading and looking here and there and found this initiative. I want to donate Prema for his work (my 980M have a new life with your vBIOS, this deserves some gratification man!), getting Prema BIOS as a bonus would be a great thing too.

What Clevo did you purchase? Where did you purchase it?

Stock Clevo BIOS has been utter feces for years. This is the first year they included a few extra options, but it is still sorely lacking in configuration capabilities. Clevo should be ashamed of themselves for the inexcusable half-baked firmware abortions they create that requires third-party talent (our hero @Prema) to make their hardware fully functional.

Bought it from shop which is not on Prema Partners list but few days ago I was not aware what crap Clevo BIOS is.
So I`m screwed

 

About your only options at this point in time is to take a look at - @unclewebb's ThrottleStop, and/or Clevo's Control Center or Intel XTU.

While these options are not configurable within the BIOS, you do have some control over your new laptop.

 

Yeah, I know but customization and overclock are one thing. Removed limits, improved performance and optimized BIOS code is another.
Otherwise I`m old timer from ZX Spectrum times, which likes to have "things" in BIOS.
Shame on you Clevo!

or just write @unclewebb´s ThrottleStop, mark "ThrottleStop", click on the lying 8 symbol on the top of your posting window and add the URL there.

 

I have the Rich Text Editor switched off as it was killing any posts on my iPad. So I do not have a toolbar or 'link' button in the UI. In any case, I got it. The problem also had to do with having [USER] within the [ U R L ] tags as well. Thx. ++Rep.

Thanks to all your love, prayers and good wishes I have fully recovered and am back among the living!
Have also been playing catch-up and working myself through almost all PM³ ('Personal Maxwell Model Mod') requests...

On another note:
THX to all you fantastic people ( You know, who you are!), @Phoenix and of course the awesome folks over at EVOC @Ted@HIDevolution , @Donald@HIDevolution , @thattechgirl_viv and the rest of the hard working team, we also have a lift-off on my 'PHOENIX'!

So will be joining all the old and new faces in the 'DM3 Club' in a week or so...
Some components like the SSD are still up in the air, so will post my specs once the dust has settled and it's all set in stone.

This thread as well as EVOC accepting donations will ultimately come to an end on Halloween (Monday 31st) so that we can commence some firmware exorcism...

I second the comment on the EVOC team. @Ted@HIDevolution and @Donald@HIDevolution and @thattechgirl_viv are awesome folks that put in lots of long hours to deliver awesome things to their customers. They are breaking the paradigm of crippled garbage that plagues our niche by being a Prema Partner, and offering value-added options like delidded CPUs, Liquid Ultra, and other unique touches, that mean the difference between having good versus great products.

I heard from Vivian today, so I hope to be re-joining the ranks of the PHOENIX Marauders with Alienkiller R2 in a matter of days. I am looking forward to working with you again to get the firmware mods to our PremaMod Partner patrons who have been so patiently making do with the the lackluster stock firmware as quickly as possible.

I would really like to get a custom bios for my 775dm3-g and 1080. Currently running standard bios and I am really trying to tame my temps. Have attempted delid, CLU and various repastes.
