A question for those who have been tracking Clevos longer than I have....

How do prices of older models and newer models tend to change as refreshes occur (e.g. the IB change coming in 2012)? Mainly, I'm wondering if brand new models are priced at a premium and then decrease over time, or alternatively, do prices stay relatively constant (not including sales or coupons)?

I'm in the classic "wait or buy" dilemma. I'd buy a P151HM1 if forced to right now, but nothing is forcing my hand except impatience and a potential hardware failure on my old machine. I'm wondering if a 4-5 month delay would result in a IB machine for the same price I'd buy an SB machine for now.

    Thanks all! Loving this forum...

(And apologies if this is answered somewhere else - couldn't find anything directly addressing this.)

Hmm, I want to know the same thing. I would guess that newer models will start a bit higher than current, simply because of some new features coming out soon. However, If someone can answer this, that would be great.

I can't speak to Clevo's specifically, but normally laptops in general drop value pretty quickly - especially if you are looking at one with cutting-edge components at the time of purchase. You'll have some future-proofing with high-end stuff, but it can only be compared against equivilant performing products in 1-2 years - which might just be the netbooks of the day.
