    Hello everyone,

In recent days, I occasionally some "scratch" or "tingling" along the screen (accompanied by slight freeze when moving the mouse) that appeared briefly when I was on a website, or in a game ..

After several times these red stripes, my screen began to bleach until you see a white screen ... I did ctl alt supp to exit the game (COD4), the computer took 10 seconds to put me on task manager, but it returned

I'm looking for a solution but I have a little of both gtx280m died.

Here are photos showing the scratches.

I dont know if this is your issue or not but it is a common issue with this machine, there is some really bad socket creep with the connections under the touch panel connecting the display to the board.

At least once a month I and many other m980nu owners have to pop the touch panel off and reconnect the cable(s) to get our screens to behave.

If you still believe your 280's are hurting or dying you can connect to an external display. If the symptoms manifest on the external then your cards may very well be bad. If the symptoms do not then you may be suffering the same connection issues many of us are.

    Ok

Should I look at it, but where is the connector that I can watch?

The one that gives me the trouble is right under the touch panel on the left side. It's about an inch or an inch and a half wide and flat. When my screen starts to skitz out on me I disconnect it then reconnect it nice and tight and the problem goes away for a month or so.

I should disclaimer this by saying that I'm absolutely not some PC pro or even a novice and for all I know that connection really has nothing to do with the screen going nuts and I could very well be making things much worse for myself.

    Solitair,

One way to check if it is the screen and not the cards would be to alt & printscreen the desktop next time these artifacts arise. Copy and paste this into paint and check the picture. If these artifacts do not appear in the screen shot I would say it safe to say its the screen or connectors. If it were the graphics cards I would assume it should capture the artifacts.

    Regards
    Bracken

Are you still in warrenty ? if so I would sent it back.

It sounds as if the heat generated by your machine while gaming is maybe expanding the plastic connection/s pushing them apart slightly and giving that effect ? I could be completely wrong, just a theory. you could try a laptop cooler if were caused by this.

Yes, I have 1 year and 2 months of warranty.

I have no cooler because I do not exceed 80 ° and problem sometimes when the laptop is just lit.

But for now, I no longer the problem so I think that it just the screen.
So I think the format in some time and if this means I will try to pass it as collateral.

I'm afraid it does not pass because it's a random problem.

I will try to use FurMark whether it comes from gtx280m.

    What setting would you recommend?
