When I put my computer in sleep mode, I usually switch to power save before doing so. When I reboot and try to switch to high power however, the screen stays at the same level of brightness. Hitting the power icon and attempting to change brightness results in the removal of the brightness slider. From performance it seems the computer is staying in power save and I have to reboot fully to get it to work. How can I fix this?
Also, the hotkey program that came with my computer has power modes as well - EnergyStar, Performance, and Balanced. Do these have an effect as well as the windows power mode? I usually switch both, but I'm not sure if the hotkey program's power modes actually do anything.

A tip on the brightness not being adjustable after waking from sleep:
After waking your machine close the lid and reopen it, you should now have adjustable brightness back.
Thats what I do when I encounter that glitch. -
Alright, thanks
I haven't run into the error again yet, but if I do I will try that out. Thanks for the info! I got my laptop from Malibal, it was definitely the best computer purchase I've made.
Edit:
Now I've found when I try to sleep, the computer doesn't shut off and just keeps a blank screen...
Edit2:
Disabled the wireless before sleeping and it worked.
