Well, I own this notebook for like 3 weeks and i didn't burned with the dvd untill yesterday.
Here's the problem : I try to burn a data dvd (4200 mb total) with nero, like i always did with any other data dvd... I choose 8X (max speed) and it start like it should... time remaining is ok (8mins range) but it's actualy very slow and the burning can take like 20-25 min and when the disk's out... There no traces of burning on it and when I put it back... it's an empty dvd... My burnr simply doesn't burn.

My notebook run's on vista 64 bit sp1 fully updated, i tryed with Nero 8 and Nero 9 with no success... same thing happen on boths

The burner in question is : TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS L-633A ATA Device

Thanks in advance for your help

Try the DVD at a lower speed and close other programs
also try a different media or change the DVD file system.

Keep in mind, there are two lasers, one for CDR and one for DVDr
but at least you know the CDR laser works and the software is
    compatible.

well if there's 2 laser i just see one but anyway... it's weird because im able to write files to dvd with windows itself but not with nero... speed actualy drops to around 3.3x instead of 8x and the dvd get's out blank

I don't know what i should do to make it work in nero, I checked every settings that could be made and i don't see what I could do

I agree, it probably is Nero.

If the OS can burn direct and the disccomes out good, then the fault
is either in Nero, or how the OS allows Nero to access the disc drive.

Have you tried other software or contacted Ahead?

Well I won't contact Ahead since I didn't buy it, so you can guess what I did... I will investigate about it, tryed v.8 et v.9 of nero like i said.
Does anyone know which appz I could try instead of Nero?
