    LAPTOP : Sager NP9170 w/ HD7970

So my laptop has about ... 50 hours of use so far after owning it for a couple months, so its generally low usage at the moment. I installed a Kingston SSD V200 120GB and OCZ Vertex3 120gb on it when I received it and I use Kaspersky PURE.

So after playing a couple hours on it last night I did my normal Windows -> Shutdown and logged off for the night. Tonight I decided to boot it back up and use it a little bit.

When turning it on I received an error prompting me to repair windows or start normally. Either selections resulted in a klim6.sys BSOD. So I proceeded to boot into the BIOS and noticed my OCZ is listed but the Kingston which houses the OS is not listed there. Checked connection; its all fine. It begins to prompt into the PXE E61 blah blah trying to boot through network because you dont have a HD on here junk.

Booted old HDD with original OS from same SATA port and it booted fine (note this is in ACHI mode). Plugged SSD into an external USB bay and was able to look at all files on the SSD fine.

So my questions is this an issue that was caused from Kaspersky since it can specifically pull a klim6.sys error to bsod or is this a failure on the SSDs part? I'm at a loss here. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    TL;DR
SSD that's been in use not recognized @ bios level, klim6.sys error; ssd problem or issue kaspersky caused me?

have u tried booting the system after entering bios? (hit save&restart) had similar problems with my laptop + ssd (seeg sig) way back when :p

if that doesnt work, try and upgrade to the latest ssd firmware and newest EC & BIOS of ur laptop.
be aware that some ssd firmware upgrades come with data loss,so make sure to do a backup first :)

and if THAT doesnt work then i guess its time for an OS reinstall ^^

    cheers

sounds like an SSD firmware issue to me. those v200 are pretty new to the market. All the kinks may not be worked out

It definitely sounds like it could be the SSD firmware. Try updating that firmware and seeing if it will work. Post here and give us all an update.

Look it up on Google, several people have had this problem. Firmware update!

Oh and if it doesn't get fixed, use your damn warranty :D
