    Hello there,

maybe someone here had this problem, too or knows anything about it:

I updated a clevo M570RU-U with a 8700m GT to the 8800m GTX card - I did that before on another Clevo, worked fine.
But this time, the following happens:
The card is recognized without any problems, the Notebook starts, in the BIOS I can see the card is there, Windows starts, but then the cooler turns on, first low, then medium, and at that point the Notebook starts Beeping. Every Beep is the same, it just goes "BEEP - BEEP - BEEP" and so on.
Then, after about 30 seconds or so, the notebook turns immediately off!
I can start again without no problems, till the cooler turns on medium...

I changed VBIOS versions, even flashed to 9800m GT, the card always is recognized right, but the "BEEPing" stays...

Is it a hardware defect, or have someone an idea, what else this can be?

Best regards (from Germany, so sorry for my "not so good English"...)
    Andy

The fans are speeding up at a rapid pace... Did you apply thermal paste to the gpu/did you ensure that it was done correctly? Did you re-seat the heat sink properly?

    Hello ettornio,

yes, indeed, the fans speed up too fast - I did apply thermal paste and I did it again, even took the card out of the cooling box and then in again.
    But it still beeps...

    Hello, luckyfoot,
I purchased the 8800m GTX from a seller on ebay here in Germany.
It originally came from a M17X SLI - and this wasmy first thought, the VBIOS could be wrong for the M570ru, but as I said, I tried a lot of BIOS ;-).
The time until the notebook shuts down is just enough to do an update, but you got to hurry...

    Best regards
    Andy

    Hello,

1.00.12 and EC10. Should be the latest BIOS.

    Best regards
    Andy

Try this VBIOS. It's an update released by Clevo for the 8800M GTX in M570RU :
    Version 6292230014 - 2008/1/31

    ftp://cftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M57xRU/57RU_GTX.zip

If this couldn't help, then your machine is one of these M570RU that don't have hardware support the 8800M GTX (known issue)

    Hello,

    thanks, but same problem :-(.
BUT: I installed the card in a M571TU (originally with 9800m GTX), and SAME PROBLEM there!
So I beginn to think it´s a defective card... what do you think?

    Regards
    Andy

You have to try it with a one came originally with an 8800M GTX to check the default card possibility

But does the M570TU have the same issue with an 8800m GTX?

No the M570TU has a full support for the 8800M GTX.

Sorry, I didn't notice that you tried the card with a TU, so it should be the card which is defective.
