Everytime my new 9262 with Vista Ultimate 64 bit tries to go into hibernation or I try to send it into hibernation.............the screen goes black, but all the lights on the keyboard stay on and you can hear the hard drives and fans still running....... and you cannot bring the computer back up no matter what you do.

The only to get the computer back up is to let the battery go dead or to unscrew the battery and take it off........then restart and you get the "windows didn't shut down properly" message.

I'm getting really annoyed.......does anybody know why it would keep doing this? Is this a problem with Vista itself?

Have you checked the event logs to see if anything's been flagged there in connection with the hibernation attempts?

sorry to sound stupid.......but how do I do that?

Everytime I get it started again.....I get a box saying "windows is looking for a solution to the problem" but after it searched the internet.....it disappears and doesn't give a solution
