Hi. When I try to watch youtube videos, they video suddenly stops. The only thing that fixes this is to change the quality. If I'm watching in 720p or higher, the video turns green and jumps faster to the end. I have no idea how to fix this permanently, though changing the quality will fix it for the next 1-20 seconds. I have the latest flash player installed, and the latest nvidia driver installed. I'm using a clevo p170em with 680m and 3610qm. Any ideas?

thats a new one on me as not heard of that before. sounds more like a streaming problem from internet provider. what sort of broadband download speed are you getting.
not sure but im guesing you tube will use the intergrated HD4000 so you could try setting it to use the 680 instead.
things to check to make sure its not your computer.
what sort of temperatures are you getting (download core temps/nvidia inspector/msi afterburner/hwinfo64) from my signature below.
when was the last time you cleaned your vents and fans out?
have you run any benchmark software to see if you are getting full potential of your 680 (download 3dmark/3dmark11/vantage) from same sig below.
let us know how you get on. -
Are you using Chrome? If so they've been having MAJOR flash issues for the past 6 months. Try a different browser and report back.
-
ive never used chrome so didnt know about that. as NovaH said before you try all my bits try maybe firefox first.

It's not my broadband. I have the same issue where ever I am. How do I make youtube use my 680m? Flash player is not on the list in nvidia control panel. My temps are normal, I think. Idle around 35-50 C and under load <70 C. I think this problem first appeared when I switched from 7970m -> 680m, I'm not sure though.
I get 5900 in 3dmark11.
Sadly, I have this issue with IE/FF/Chrome. (haven't tested with any else) -
not sure if flash doesnt show up in control panel
you are running on high performance arent you.
now you mention youve changed from ati to nvidia, did you just change the cards over and load the drivers or did you do a clean OS re install.
im wondering if there are some ati crap left in the registry conflicting with nvidia
anything else then i have no idea, sorry. -
Flash shows up in windows control panel, but not in that list in nvidia settings. I sent my laptop to my reseller and changed my card, they removed ati drivers for me and installed nvidia. They did not do a clean os install. I also checked with driver sweeper and no ati drivers were found...

1. i've set my 7970 to play flash vids,
set: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerPlugin_11_5_502_146
to high performance.
2. i though that caused some graphical issues with firefox and youtbube (random black boxes would appear) so i then did this:
firefox > options > options > advanced > uncheck use hardware acceleration
seemed to be working well now youtube as well.
hope one of those 2 things helps -

Only problem here, although it was a topical idea, is that the OP has experienced this issue with multiple browsers - Chrome being one which does not currently support hardware acceleration.
OP: Have you uninstalled Flash? Adobe is notorious for producing bad updates to it's player. Try taking note of the version that you have and then remove it through your control panel. When you download it again, see if there is a newer version - if not, try the version just prior. -

I would certainly re-install flash.
Does this happen if you switch youtube to html5 mode? -
I've reinstalled flash lots of times. How do I switch to html5 mode?
Things have been better lately though. -

You can opt in and out freely. It's still going through testing but a lot of people seem to prefer HTML5 and see more potential in it.
