I've got a Clevo170 which has come preinstalled with the THXStudioPro software. The problem is, it has to be registered first via the Creative software license activation manager before the program can be used. No matter what I've tried, the program will get past the activation key confirmation and crash each and every time it tries to communicate with the server.

I've tried using a combination of compatibility settings and running as administrator to no avail, there's nothing on google either on the problem I'm experiencing. It's annoying since I'm certain you can't get the system's inbuilt subwoofer to function without the software activated. I'm getting by using the Creative HD sound card and external speakers, but sound quality drops when I'm on the road without the subwoofer on so I would really like to change this round.

Did you uninstall and reinstall the THX software? I'd start there before anything else to see if that helps.

Before I look like a complete fool, which of the setup DVDs contains the THX software?

You should have a driver disk. I believe it's included under the "optional extras" section of that disk.

Either my PC didn't ship with one or my family missed it when unpacking my system on my behalf. I do have the following folder options in the attachment. One subfolder has a setup program which doesn't run no matter what I do with it, the THXstudioPro program does function properly but without a registration I'm stuck with it being ineffective.

Here's a link to the download for THX. Try reinstalling it with this fresh download and see if it fixes the registration issue:

Does that work on other models as well?

Yeah, it should work on any models that use the THX software. If you need any specific software, the Clevo download site has all the model specific installs as well: CLEVO - Download

Thanks for the links. However I ordered the Xi-Fi USB soundcard with my order and after installing the drivers on that card I've managed to activate the THX features without needing to go through the registration process. I'll keep the installation file just in case.

Edit: Links don't seem to work properly, I'll have to try this a few times and hope it connects.
