I don't know if its a driver issue but I (nor anyone else that I've asked) simply cannot install anything based on Unix.
    not Fedora,
    not Ubuntu,
    nothing.

All of these operating systems crash or freeze during or after installation.

I've been waiting 13 weeks for a repair on my laptop from OverclockersUK to get something that I cannot even use.
Please, could someone verify for me that these systems do actually support a unix os.
Im on the verge of tearing my hair out.
    and tears.

Have you tried posting your problem over in the Linux section?

    Hi

We have customers who run Ubuntu on both 860TU and 570TU with seemingly no problems, well nothing major enough that it stops them using it long term instead of Windows. There's a thread here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=189462&highlight=ubuntu+570 which may help you - tbh I'm not a Linux expert but it's definitely do-able.

Have you definitely ruled out a hardware problem i.e. does Windows operate ok or are you not dual booting?

actually, now that I think about it, windows reboots by itself, sometimes crashes, sometimes freezes. This is horrid.
The screwheads were supposed to have run all of their diagnostics. Obviously that was a lie.
