Hi, got pretty desperate so I joined up!

I installed the 14.6 driver update for amd radeon 8970m gpu and from what I can see here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...mantle-support-mobile-gpus-has-arrived-6.html

users of 8970m are somehow successful in installing the drivers.

I, on the other hand have lost count of number of re-installs I have done.. but to no avail.

    The problems are:
When the install finishes, it finishes with warnings (nothing I can see from the logs), or it is "successful".

Either way, on restart CCC won't start, or CCC can't detect configurable settings,
or CCC only works after a second restart after installation. But the CCC that is used in this case is not the beta version but some default version it seems.

I also updated BF 4 to use the mantle update, but the game isn't detecting mantle for some reason.
In other words the options to switch between DX and Mantle isn't showing up.
And when I play the game it is virtually impossible to play. The game won't respond to mouse and keyboard inputs.
Only when I alt tab out and in the game and it works for just an input before it becomes crazy slow or unresponsive again.

    I don't know what I did wrong:
I uninstalled Catalyst via CP first.
I uninstalled the drivers manually from device manager.
I used driver sweeper. And to be extra sure deleted the previous drivers from C:\AMD and C:\ProgramFiles\Common\ATI
restarted and installed the 14.6 beta and RC releases. But no joy.

This driver just simply refuses to work.

Frankly, I don't know how you guys got it to work. And wasting days on this is starting to make me

Any ideas would be great, thanks!

oh sorry it is my fault. then have you try to uninstall just using control panel? i never used any driver cleaner nor done it manually.

It may not do anything, but have you attempted to install drivers in safe mode? Sometimes even if you try to remove old drivers, something's left that interferes with the installation of new ones. If you do it in safe mode, nothing but windows will be allowed to run, and thus you should get no problems installing it.

That being said, I must ask: Have you tried installing an older driver and seeing if those work? If ONLY the latest drivers don't work, then that's more weird than all drivers simply being unable to work.
