    x from /accessories.

A few days ago I got an external soundcard (Traktor Audio 2) and was met with a bunch of trouble from the USB.

First of all, using the interface on an USB 3.0 port is an instant BSOD the second a sound is supposed to come out of it. Luckily p150em has one USB 2.0 port in it, so I got it to work.
(USB 3.0 drivers are up to date)

My second problem is that I ran out of USB ports... so I bought an USB hub ( Trust 4 Port USB Hub ). And it doesn't work.

Well, it DOES work, but the devices keep disconnecting all the time, even though everything seems to be lit up and working. The hub shouldn't need drivers and I haven't installed anything, it was advertised as "fully plug n play". The manual has 3-step instructions that go literally like this: "1. Turn on computer, 2. Plug in the hub, 3. Done"

What makes it more confusing, is that these disconnections started after I started using the external sound card. I was using the hub BEFORE I even had the sound card, and it worked ok.

    So.. any guesses?

Does the external sound card connected to the hub? if so it could be that there isn't enough power to support all the devices, i have an external sound card (M-audio fast track pro) and while I do have problems with it, it tends to be fine if I keep it on one of the usb3 ports by itself, also since its an unpowered hub if you're trying to connect harddrives that don't use an external power source it will again probably not have enough power, same thing happens with mine.
    Hope that helps!

^yup, it most probably needs a powered usb hub as it sounds like it could be taking too much drain from one usb3
what 4things did you have plugged into the hub?

My interface is on the USB 2.0 port because as I said, it does a BSOD on an USB 3.0.

The hub is on an 3.0 port, and the last time I had nothing but my mouse and a Wacom Intuos4 tablet attached to it. I tried switching between the tablet, my mouse, and my USB internet stick, but none of the combinations of 2 worked right.

Guess I could look for a different hub. (sigh)
As if I didn't have enough wire clutter already.

Anyway thanks, at least I'm not completely clueless about what the cause might be. :p

Definitely sounds like you may need a new hub. In my experience in using them you either get a great one or problems will eventually arise and in my case usually sooner than later. Sounds like you got hit by that as well. It might also be something is wrong the sound card itself that through some freak occurence it tried drawing too much power or something physically wrong with the device and it damaged the USB hub. Might need to borrow a friends computer for some testing and narrowing down the problem.

It's interesting, I have a hub and I can't use my mouse AND recon 2 at the same time, on the clevo machine it would just disconnect the devices, on MSI they would both work but I would get crackly audio.

So likely the weaker USB on the EM combined with a weaker hub is causing your issues.
