    Problems with a D901C.

    Hi guys,

    I have a Clevo D901C purchased from AVADirect with twin 8800M GTX's, 4GB DDR 800Mhz RAM and a Q6700 processor, running 64-bit Vista. Recently, I've been having trouble with it blackscreening, requiring a hard reboot. It seems to occur whenever a large number of processes are going on at the same time, or a single demanding one, for that matter. Both the motherboard and the RAM were recently replaced. It's gotten to the point where I can't do anything even vaguely intensive for more than 20-30 minutes or so. Is there any way I can test where the problem lies short of buying a new CPU/GPU and going from there?

    Please help me with this, this laptop's served me faithfully for the last two years and I don't want to abandon it.

    Thanks for your reply, I clean the inside of the computer on a regular basis, but I'll certainly give it a once-over. I'm not currently typing this on my own computer so I won't be able to run those programs right now, but I'll certainly give them a try as soon as I get back on. Thanks once more for your reply.

    Also try running hwmonitor to keep an eye on temperatures in case something is overheating.

    Both programs have iso images wich are bootable. You only have to write those images to cd and later boot from the cd. For both tests it is required to let them run in a loop for several hours.

    Thanks for the tip theriko, I was wondering how to keep a tab on temperatures. I don't have a blank disc available to me right now, but I'll pick one up and see if my RAM and vRAM are okay. Just out of curiosity, what is considered normal for a computer of my specs, running a fairly intensive game?

    Update your video drivers. If that doesn’t work it can be that one of the graphic cards is falling (try using the mobo with just one GPU).
    Can be a power supply problem.. disconnecting one of the GPU will also help.
