I've noticed that the Mac computers have a program called smSpeedControl or something like that that increases the RPM at which the notebook fans run, especially to a specification of the user.
Is there anything similar for the m860tu in particular and if so, what are the disadvantages of using such a program?

notebooks do not have a standard program for fan control.
Clevo notebooks have fan firmware to control the fans.
Dell has a utlity that works for a few of its systems. -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Why don't you use Fn+X combination (X=1/2/3)?

Doesn't work on the M860TU. Really wish Sager would come up with a bios allowing us users to control the fanspeed. I'd turn it on full blast when plugged in.

sorry to hijack this thread but the new 8662 I just got has got a fan control button, but its the button next to the power switch.
But the only options I have on it is silent and standard. I have read many threads about where people can turn it to full blast, is mine odd and have to download new drivers? -
the M860TU/ETU does not have fan control because it has not been demanded... like it was on the M570 series.
the heat for the CPU and GPU has not been an issue with the Auto Speed built into the system.
If you make a fuss, Clevo will probably release a fan firmware for the system as well.
Programs to control the M860TU fan?
