Right now, I'm looking to buy either the Sager NP2090 or NP5790. The shipping date on most reseller's sites have the notebooks shipping out late June or early July. I'm just wondering when do I need to order the notebook if I need to have it by late July. I start college on August 18, so I'm trying to figure out if I order mid-July, will I be at least be able to have the notebook by the first week of August?

The sooner you order the more secure you will be in receiving it by the first week in August. Summertime is the busiest time of the year for laptop manufacturers due to the demand created by everyone going back to school and many times we find it difficult to keep up with the demand..

If you wait until mid-July to order you might be ok, but you are taking a chance that you won't get it in time. It would be safer to order earlier than that if you can...but call your reseller to get their best estimate of shipping time and delivery date.

So by your statement, the earlier the better, but mid July is the latest I should order. Well, right now with my current job, I will have made $1250 by July 7 and $1750 by July 15 to purchase a notebook. I really don't want to push buying past July 15 if shipping will take a lot of time. Barring working at least 4 days of overtime, this will be what I have to spend on the notebook.

I don't know if you are allowed to tell me this, but just how many orders have you received for these two notebooks? I'm trying to gauge how many people are in front of me to receive their notebooks before I step in.

Correct, I wouldn't push it much past July 15th, depending of course on where you are which could affect the in transit shipping time.

These two models were just introduced by Sager last Friday night, so there aren't hordes of orders yet, but the supply is very limited right now for the NP2090, and the NP5790 won't start shipping for another couple of weeks or so. The important thing is to get in line as soon as possible.

If you like, give me a call and I will explain our Lay-Away plan that will get you in line sooner than waiting to earn all the necessary money.

I know how you feel @riffjaff, I've been working 5 days a week 8 hours a day for 2 months to buy 'the best bang santa rosa notebook' and the Clevo M570RU is the one, with bulk out specs. I hope it's worth my hard earned money.

I'm feeling you rigv. But it will be so worth it when I open up that box to see that beautiful machine staring right back at me. I just see it as a way for a college kid to get some real life experience before being thrust into it without my parents. Good luck and hope you get what you're after.
