Just got it today from them. I unwrap it and connect the 2 power bricks and connector and press power button but nothing. The two leds on laptop turned orange like they are supposed 1 for charging battery and other that's it's plugged in but beyond that nothing pressing power makes no noise other than the click of the button itself. The leds on the connector is green

    Contact them

You can try the NVRAM reset procedure but that requires getting under the keyboard, I wouldn't do that on a new system without contacting them first

First boot after cleared NVRAM may a minute depending on RAM config but I'd be surprised the shop didn't already turn it on to test prior to shipping?

With most Clevo machines the power is push and hold, not just a quick tap.

OK here is a update in order to see if this was a simple fix or something more serious I did the following *yes I'm going to contact prostar in the morning*
    1. Tried pressing the power and nothing happened , this included holding down the power button for more than 5 seconds but no dice.
    2. I opened the bottom of the laptop and removed the battery and this is when it got interesting... When the battery is installed and power cord and all are plugged in nothing happens.
However when the battery is removed and then the laptop plugged in the laptop will boot automatically without pressing anything.
    3. So i logged into the computer using the above method and tried pressing the power button then, all it does is turn the screen black and as soon as you release it the screen comes back and nothing happens. It doesn't hibernate or turn off even if you hold it. All the software controls work perfectly though, such as click turn off or reset within windows.

I have no idea what's causing this odd behavior and as I said I'll be contacting prostar to ask their opinion and if necessary get it rma'd such a shame a brand new laptop is functioning in such a odd way.

Sorry to hear it! Yes, please do give us a call or email us when you get a chance. I was initially suspecting the power button board, or the cable that bridges it to the main board, but because you're getting a response when logged in (even though it's not a normal one), I don't think that's it.

We'll take care of you and get it sorted.
