Hey everyone! It finally arrived! Proud new owner of the m570u and I'm eager to do some benchmarks and share them with everyone.

I'm just going to ask questions as they come up, so I guess check back to this thread as I'll edit it / update with more questions info.

First off, is there any particular reason that the black window opens then immediately closes when I type "ipconfig" in run?

in 2000/XP you have to open command prompt to use IPCONFIG

    so go to RUN:
    type: CMD
then you can use the IPCONFIG commands

and congrats on the new beast. :)

Hey Gophn, in the Hardware Monitering setup page, I don't see "Core Temperatures" at the bottom of the list. Has it been removed or something?

Last entry on the list is: Hardware Installation / Open GL

It's like this is an updated version of RivaTuner. I see something in regard to Core Temperatures under the "Power User" tab, but I'm wary about playing in there. hehe

it could be called something else now,
look for any thing that says Temp

If the temp option does not show up, then the drivers might need to be updated.

Alright, got the GPU temp monitering up and running. I did the recommended offset of about 200C and with max fans and a download going i'm at 51.5ishC. Does anyone else who has the 7950GTX moniter their temps? Just wanted to compare and see how accurate the 200C offset was.

Also, my battery is charged so I unplugged it. Where does one adjust how the computer runs when on battery power? Since it won't really leave my desk I want it to be running optimally even when unplugged.

I'm downloading NHC right now, so maybe it'll be in there?

    Congrats OMNP!
You should be able to change the power settings in the Control Panel under Power Options.
Just an FYI. I'm using the most recent tweaks-r-us custom 7950gtx Vista 64bit drivers, and that's how I got my best 3dmark06 score.

I am having trouble registering it. It runs fine in free games just having problems letting me join online games. I am fine online with everything else, I think it is just the registering issue.

I am too busy playing the Sims 2 and Supreme Commander at max settings anyway :D
