    Hello all,

I'm looking to buy a base model 4710hq/mq 970m Sager/Clevo laptop and hoping to buy one that is already pre built without having to wait for build time. Are there any resellers currently with that option?

    Thank you in advance!

    Brian

I have not seen any that offer pre-built, some do offer rush production to get it built faster. Sager/Clevo computers are more of a built to order business model.

Appreciate the quick input. This is my first time looking to grab one so I wasn't sure if purchasing one then having it built was the only process or not.

Clevo supplies barebones to Resellers such as Sager. Barebones only come with the motherboard, screen and chassis, as well as the battery. The other components have to be installed separately which is why most of the resellers offer built to order.

That's the main reason you don't find them in brick & mortar stores.

If you buy your computer during "empty season" ( like now :) ), it will be likely got build in a matter of 2 days (happened to me, less than 4 days between the checkout and the package arrival).
Plus, as the combo "i7+970" is quite popular it should be quick :)

Although with everything being soldered, there isn't much else that can be added other than hard drive or SSD, RAM, and wireless card. And many Clevo barebones come with a basic wi-fi card.

What do you mean? There is practically nothing soldered on the Clevo machines. CPU and GPU are all upgradeable. (Unless you mean the newer models such as P650SE/G)

Since he mentions the HQ cpu it likely is a soldered gpu + cpu machine.

HT was talking about the P650SE/SG, P670SE/SG which have soldered CPU+GPU..
