    Hi all

So I've discovered what appears to be a brand of laptops that have made many a user happy with their purchase.. Sager/Clevos.

I'm a bit confused on what selections will be available, as I hear discussions on certain models, yet cant view them on xotic. If they're currently not available, what is currently the best guess timeline? If I put in an order now, would it definately be ready mid April?

How do I order if the selection isnt there?

And I see additional warranty for Canadians on Xotic; is it the best place to purchase from Canada?

    Appreciate any info

As far as I understand it, there is an NDA expiring on April 5th which is why you can't view certain specs of the upcoming models through any of the resellers/builders.

With that in mind, Sager is offering a $50 deferred order discount until April 5th in order to combat the fact that you are essentially ordering blind until the NDA is lifted at which point you can modify/cancel your order if you are not happy (I think).

Because of the NDA, there is a very good chance that the order will not be ready until mid april but from reading other posts in this forum it seems that they are on schedule with no current delays expected.

As far as ordering from Canada goes, you might be inclined to choose a Canadian based reseller such as Reflex Notebook as with them you can avoid shipping and brokerage fees with your order.

For more information on buying a Sager/Clevo in Canada check out these guide:

    Good luck,

You're sort of buying at a really bad time... Wait 'till April 5th and things will start to make sense again. The thing is, Clevo is currently doing a model refresh and there are lots of NDA's forcing sellers to use old equipment as a mask for the up and coming stuff. And yes, buy from a Canadian reseller. While you wait, (for the 5th), read this topic and it should help clear some stuff up

As others mentioned some parts are under NDA and we have listed what we can. The date for these to lift is currently April 5th with shipping supposed to start April 12th. The $50 deferred shipping discount does go away on the 5th once the NDA lifts.

For shipping you want to pick UPS Express, if you go with ground UPS they will collect brokerage fees which average $80-100 at the time of delivery. If you go Express the fee is much less, around $10. Anyway you ship do you have to pay local taxes (PST/GST/HST) at the time of delivery.

As Hutsady said, all Sager models, with the exception of the Sager 9270, are on Deferred shipment. The bottom line is Sager has nothing left to sell until the new platform comes out. They intended to time it right, but they oversold their forecast and ran out of the old platform too soon.

So, the best thing to do is just submit your specifications for the Sager NPxxx you want so that you can get in line, and get the $50 discount. Then when the new platform comes out you can change anything you want, but your place in line is held, and you get the $50 discount.

    Thanks for the info guys.

So Reflexnotebooks is a Canadian company, who appear to be located in Quebec. If I'm shipping to Manitoba, there would be no PST applied? This would be the main benefit to using Reflex? Can anyone confirm whether warranty repairs would be better with them then say XoticPC?

If there are any other resellers, that one should use shipping to Canada, please shoot me a message. I'd like to 'get in line' with an order

    Hi Markus,

Yes we are a Canadian company located in Quebec, thanks Michael for the link!

If you have any questions just let me know via email or PM. As far as benefits go between company A, B, or C, etc that's what this forum is for we all help each other out, think of it as one big Clevo family.

Warranty repairs can be done at our offices except major motherboard issues, those will have to be shipped back to Sager.

Hey Markus, I will be ordering a Clevo to Winnipeg, Manitoba as well. Waiting for the 5th, the timing is just right for the release of Diablo3 on May 15th :)
