Hi guys. Been thinking about getting a Sager, but a couple things I am wondering.
If I get it shipped here though UPS Canada Standard ($40 option) will I be slammed with huge border/brokerage fees?
Also, how many DIMMs on the motherboard?

You'll prolly have to pay a tax. Contact Sager and ask them about it.
What laptop are you asking about? Usually there are 2 memory slots. -
Well the check-out said this.

Don't get the standard shipping. Get Canada Air or something like that.
-
I just received my np9262 yesterday and I woudl suggest what Fade said. Go with the 87$ shipping. All I had to pay when it arrived was the 5% GST (176.xx something) at the door.

Or go with eurocom... the only canadian reseller

The prices for the D901C suck and the prices for high specd M571RU also suck. The only good price they have is the one for the basic M571RU.

Does it work for non-Canadian students? I don't think so...

I don't worry about that.
Recently I saw that I can get a fully loaded M571RU for a better price in Europe compared to US (VAT added). 320GB HDD, 4GB HDD, WUXGA, T7700... it's great! -

UK. Novatech to be more specific... 1500UK for that one (with 2 year warranty and shipping). The same system configured in the US would get me to a higher price, since I have to pay VAT for shipping as well...
Schenker (DE) has the same system, without the 320GB HDD (they have a 250GB one) for 1999EU (2 year both ways shipping included). -
I recieved my laptop from Xotic pc using Express air sadly it was held in customs and I had to pay full tax $500 worth.
-
So they do charge the whole amount ?
Someone in another topic mentioned how they chose ups worldwide expedited and did not have to pay any taxes... then the creator of this thread says he only paid the 5% ( are u located in Alberta btw ? ), and now harry1511 mentions that he had to pay the whole amount.......
this is pretty confusing, im considering getting one for myself but i dont want to get surprised by the duties and taxes fees.
I'm in quebec btw. -
When you ship to Canada always get the more expensive option (if possible). This way there is a high chance you'll not get taxed (or at least you'll pay a minor price).
Q about shipping to Canada and RAM
