just wondered if theres any software that can undervolt the q9000?
tried searched the web but only come out cpugenie as the only solution...

i use RMCLOCK for a very long time with my t7300....but it seems that it aint support q9000 with half multipliers..

    any suggestions?

and also..whats the best voltage q9000 can reach in 7.5x multiplier?

Try CPU Genie, I recommend that you use its wizard on the most thorough settings which will take about 7 hours or more to test each voltage / stability etc. I don't undervolt though, the Q9000 runs cool enough and when on battery power, I use silent mode.

CPU Genie does require you to pay for it after a month free trial.

The other alternative would be Crystal CPUID. I have instructions for it in my G51 guide (in siggy) if you need help.

You don't have to do the 7 hours, the other options are shorter, something like 20 minutes. For the best stability, a longer testing phase is recommended that's all.

i tried CPUID...but it seems only dual core supported :(
    sorry..havent update my sig..it should be q9000

err ya....sad that i need to pay...but if no alternatives..well...guess that i have no choice

    tried it...crystal CPUID..
vista power management keep meddling with the voltages...
i was able to get it into 1.050v but it jumps to 1.113 volts....

tried to set the maximum and minimum state..still cannot....

    any ideas?

usually RMCLOCK can override the voltages but it seems that crystalCPUID cannot override it...

What do you mean by vista power management?

You can either undervolt through multiplier management which gives you 3 FIDs or you can just have the CPU run on one multiplier. If you use multiplier management, you have to make sure its checked under the functions menu.

Just check out the guide in my sig for a better explanation.

i followed every single instructions in your guide...and although it works...
crsytal cpuid only manage to override the voltage for short amount of time then the vista power management comes in and everything goes back to default
    [IMG]

    i tried changing the maximum and minimum values...1% , 90% , 60%
but when i change below 100% the cpu automatically downclock to 6.0x multiplier and not going up to 7.5x even i stress tested it using prime95

The 7.5x multiplier is utilizing the CPU at 100% so if you don't let it utilize it at 100%, you won't be able to use the 7.5 multiplier.

got it....i got a single question..
i already have the voltage down to 1.050v
but theres something wrong with the multipliers...

q9000 max is 7.5x , tried to mod it but instead of showing 8.0x as NORMAL..it showed IDA...
should i restart my computer to see the registry mod results?

err ya...that also makes the windows set the voltage back to normal which is 1.11 somthing...

wish theres a way to disable it completely

devilcm3, would you mind posting before and after temps when you are done adjusting?

I am quite interested in the results.

    thanks!

    it do make some difference...
but with the voltages locked to 1.050 cant make any difference thou...

i use CPU Genie to override the windows cpu power management...
and all multipliers are stable in 1.050
wish that i can go down but unfortunately although i try switching it to 1.025v
cpu-z detected it as 1.050 so i guess going down the voltage limit didnt have any effect...

the processor heat after running prime95 for 30 minutes...
    same temperature....
the difference is that , i run the prime95 without undervolting at air conditioned room...gets the maximum temperature...
and then switch the undervolting ON , run prime95 again but this time NOT in an air conditioned room...so it do have effects..

    hi,
I have my Q9000 running with all multipliers at 1.05V stable for months now. I was wondering if it's possible to get the VID lower? Has anyone done this? I already reduced the temps at full load by about 9 degs, but i feel i could get more than that. Neither RMClock or cpu genie allows a lower voltage lower than 1.05...
