Does anyone know by now if this CPU will work in our laptops with a BIOS flash?
I would even settle for the "much cheaper than the Q6700" Q9450.

These should be widely available or shipping very soon.
Some sites have them up for order, but I think they won't be shipping for another week or something from what I've heard.

Compatibility of the Yorkfields in the D901C has been discussed here.

The general conclusion being that the Socket, Power consumption and Chipset should be compatible.

However, articles such as this have highlighted the fact that there still may be motherboard incompatibility problems, despite the chipset being ok. Hopefully such problems (if any) on the D901C will only extend to a BIOS update.

As yet, there has been no official word from Clevo or Sager as to whether the current D901C motherboard is compatible with the Yorkfield processors.
