Recently I have buyed an Clevos FX3700M for my M570TU.
Installed and everything works fine. But when I try to overclock for example to 590/890/1450 and run 3DMARk06, sometimes (but not always) my driver stops responding.

Who know what could be the problem?

Anyway when I finish 3DMark test, I get scores less then with my previous 9800M GTX with the same clocks.

So the other question is.... Can I flash FX3700M to GTX280M? If yes, who can provide me a Clevos gtx280m MXM 2.1 BIOS? :D

No luck... after flashing, installing drivers and rebooting PC. Get artifacts at windows logon

I just got a Dell FX3700M and it overclocks like a mad bull. I am using the latest MSI Afterburner. I also found the FX2500 that I had would also overclock very good. I get a feeling they reduced the clocks to control heat better. Although I have not noticed it getting hot. Max temp I see is 70C which is very good compared to my Dell 6990s.

You may just have a card that isn't stable with overclocks. Overclocking isn't guaranteed, so you may have to try with lower clocks that it will stay on and stay stable.

I bought an Opteron cpu once because I heard they were stellar overclockers. The guy who sold it to me said nothing about its O/Cability, probably because it had NONE ZERO, it would not budge from its default clock speeds without instant freeze solid. It ran perfect at stock clocks though. I felt kinda ripped, because I had mentioned to the guy I was planning to overclock it.

I have also flashed it with 9800M GTX bios, because there 1.05V can be set. But there is the same sitiation.
The strange thing I want to say is, that I get no artifacts or something else, temp is very good, just driver stops responding (but also not always). For example sometimes I can run 3dMark for three times one after another, once I reboot, sometimes can't finish even first 3dMark test.
I have even tried a Furmark for 10 min., temp gets to 75 and no problems with driver.

Maybe it will be usefull to someone....
I have flashed FX3700M with 9800M's bios, have set an 1.05V and overclocked to 585/918/1550. Work stable and temps are good. In 3dMark06 I get 12860 points.
Will keep trying, maybe there is something more to be juiced out from this card :D

I have one question... maybe someone can help me.

Some times card while playing goes from "extra" performance level (585/918/1550) into "3D" level (383/767/301) and not retuns back into "extra" level until reboot.
Maybe someone can give an advice how to fix this GPU downclocking?

And who can tell me how to edit with hexeditor(Nibitor) voltage in FX3700M's bios for example to 1.06V while the maximum availiable one is 1.03V? Or maybe someone could do it for me, I believe this is not hard for some one who knows how to do it :)

I've done it. It wont help you. The actual voltage circuitry is limited to 1.03v on HP cards.

We decided with 1.05v you can get a little performance gain because the vBIOS or drivers "thinks" that it has more power.

You just can't overclock the HP cards without a hardware mod. You should have done more research (all of this was pretty well documented in 2 threads) and gotten a Lenovo card which are very good overclockers at 1.06v or more.

The Lenovo cards have yellow caps, if you have one you are very lucky.

If you're looking for the best performance...

You should take one of your cards or a dead 9800m GT... and get a professional to reball it with a 55nm gtx 260m or 280m BGA. The 260m is g92-751-b1.

Both these cards have stock 1.0 volts. Therefore at 1.03v you would have overclocking headroom, and even more at 1.05v which your 9800m GTX can probably reach.

All for probably under 100$, 50$ each for the actual BGA and the reball service, or cheaper if you do it yourself with a heatgun.

really? lenovo 3700m voltage circuitry can run 1.06v?
im thinking about resolder 3800m on 3700m but lenovo is very tricky, might brick the machine(someone report after installed third party 3800m on w701, blackscreen, put back stock lenovo 2800m and screen edid eeprom corrupted, red-blue-green cycling......only external monitor work)

Maybe you have a 280M BGA? Or where I can buy it from?
And if it is possible, give me links to the threads

my fx3700m is also good overclockable, but sometimes it downclocks and not returns back into "extra" performance level :D

Today I have decided to take out card from laptop and watch, maybe thermalpads were badly placed and it's overheating and becomes unstable....but no, I found something much more interesting
After a while of watching on FX3700M and comparing it to 9800M GTX I understood that there is one component loosing on the card (right top corner of the back side). It can be seen that it was soldered there, but now it's gone :D
