    I thinking it also depends on if you can disable the iGPU as well, of which on this platform it doesnt look to be possible.

    I was aware of that on the EM but for some reason thought that the SM series could disable optimus, ah well.

    Looks like my interest is going to be in the ZM-DM-TM etc etc platforms.

    Yes, sadly, no way to disable optimus on SM too since iGPU is used for display.
