    Hi ladies and gents,
I purchased a Clevo P750DM-G back in September and I've had quite a few issues with it so far..
I am using the laptop at class so it spends it's time in my laptop bag or on a table.

    The issues are:
    White line on screen
    Broken jackstick (plastic fell out)
    Loose hinge
    Creeking plastic

I tried videoing it to show the retailer.

They informed me that these things was my mistake and that I would be charged for these repairs?
What is your take on this?

    Thank you!

    1. The white line, could be just a line of dirt, as the screen touches the line from the palmrest that delimits the keyboard from the palmrest area.
    2. That looks like CID to me (customer induced damage, like pulling the jack too hard or not in straight line)
    3. The hinges from my former P751dm-g had the same behaviour, from day one, so do the fins in the back.
    4. My case cracks in the same spot as yours in the vecinity of the led. (as did my former p751dm-g)

Everything looks pretty normal if you ask me, except the audio jack.

The white line might have been prevented if you used a cloth screen protector that you place between the keyboard and screen when you close it for travel. I highly recommend one, never have to worry about marks or damage to the screen. I use one on all my notebooks, from the cheapo ones to my big gaming one.

The creaky/loose plastic is hard to tell, if it was like that new then I might complain, however if it did that over time it could be that it's not being padded enough or handled softly enough. I treat my consumer class notebook a lot more gingerly that my work business class notebook.

That audio jack really looks like it was inserted then the laptop either dropped against it or the cable was yanked out at a sharp angle.

I'm not meaning to be rude but I would have to side with the seller based on what you've shown here.

I always have a little cloth that I place on the keyboard before closing the screen and putting it in a bag or even before I go to bed. I've done this on every laptop I've owned.

A little bit of give lets it absorb impacts better. This is why a phone like the note 3 survives the "bend test" far better than the iphone.

I would suggest the cloth if you are particularly active with it, the jack can be replaced by a competent store depending on how the costs (and warranty concerns) work out.

Number 3 and 4 is just bad design/cheap manufacturing, which is quite bad considering you spend really good money on a laptop. It's no excuse really.

That just shouldn't be needed. I've used a good amount of laptops over the years:
Thinkpads, Ideapads, Alienware's, Dell's even Toshiba etc. NONE has had this issue when using my laptop bag. I think the only reason the line is there is due to the "ledge" in the bottom of the keyboard, because it lines up personally.

Yah I would be pissed and I would demand them at least fix some of the things, like who the hell knows to put a cloth down when you close to laptop screen? I didn't know that my laptop is almost 2 years old and I don't have any of those problems with loose plastics like you do so I wouldn't let up, you paid a high price for a high quality product and I wouldn't accept anything less....sorry you are having these problems, I mean who the heck know to put a cloth on the keyboard before you close to screen? I didn't know that and I have never done that and I have never had any problems, no problems by my touchpad no problems by my vents no problems with my audio jack, sure some of these could be caused by you the user but the thing with that screen...wtf that should be replaced no questions asked...and all the loose plastic around the corner and by the touchpad also

Looks like a cheap laptop. However, I see mostly wear and tear from this video.

To be honest, the laptops that you have used before this one, weren't really as heavy or big. Other than the Alienware, which of course has really good build quality, the Thinkpad is meant for slightly heavy use.
You can try reasoning with the seller, but im not sure how much they will budge.

You can certainly build it like a tank, at that size you get the P570WM which weighs 6.5KG.

I have just had a look at one of the same chassis we have in our office. I'm just offering my observations based on my personal experience with the chassis and though it's clear that the video is an accurate representation of that chassis now, I wouldn't say that it is representative of the build quality of the P750 chassis in general:

    - The area under the touchpad should be solid, perhaps a little bit of give but only a mm or two max
    - The air vent material is flexible on every chassis I have seen. These aren't load bearing parts - one could argue that perhaps they should be more solid by design, but then again they don't actually need to be rigid. Someone actually suggested that they were flexible so they could cope with the temperature changes better (heat exhaust) but that's not my opinion!
    - The line on the panel is definitely where it has come into contact with the chassis between the touchpad and the keyboard. I have never seen this on a P750 but I have seen it on several W230 chassis.
    - There definitely shouldn't be play in the hinges as can be seen in the video, they are solid when new. This could well be related to the line on the panel
