Doom 3 crashed on me yesterday and when i looked at the back where the cable is plugged in, it wasnt in all the way but in enough to get detected as "Chargin". Is it possible that it wasnt getting enough power and therefore made it crash? I know this sounds confusing but what im trying to ask is if it isnt in all the way it can crash a game to the point where you have to push the button??

well if a power plug is not securely connected... it can cause fluxes and shorts.... which might cause crashes.
Is it still crashing?... when its correctly plugged in? -

its hard to say, usually prolonged use of a damaged/not-secured power cable on an electronic device can cause damage.... but it also depends on the power draw and type of plugs, etc...
I would not worry too much about it if the system is stable.
If the game still crashes, try another game. Its probably software related (drivers, configs, etc..). And you can always do a defrag or CHKDSK /R (in command prompt) to do a drive scan for errors. -

CHKDSK helps more than defrag for me.

Yeah, CHDSK, or the HDTune health checker are better much better than defragging. However, it's pretty doubtful that the plug not being all the way in would cause an HDD error. More likely their was a fluctuation in the current, causing the GPU to shut itself down. I've seen that happen before when using a damaged/non-standard power supply, so it's possible it could happen from the plug not being all the way in.

When I said power supply, I wasn't referring to the PSU in your computer, I literally meant the supply of power that the computer is using: i.e. a battery, an AC adapter, etc. By nonstandard I just meant any power supply that's not the battery or AC adapter that came with your system being used normally. By having the plug not all the way in, you could have been providing a non-standard power source to your system. It's unlikely that your system is actually damaged, though if you continue to notice problems you might want to have it checked out.
