I currently have the NP8651 and have had it for about 4 years - It's still an amazing machine and will probably be in use for the next few years.

As the Nvidia GTX 1080 cards are starting to be more popular in laptops, I was wondering what the best sager/clevo laptop is right now for the price. I'm not interested in VR or any gimmicks, just graphical power and longevity, since I use my laptop exclusively for video editing and gaming.

I've been looking at the NP9877 Notebook, but after checking out the specs and a few youtube videos, my guess is that it's a little overkill for it's price. What would you guys recommend as great value? Thanks!

You only have two options in the 17-inch size: The P775 (smaller, single GPU) or P870 (larger, SLI capable). The latter is available with much better cooling, so if you don't mind the extra bulk, that's what I'd go with. There's also the 15-inch Eurocom Sky X4C, the Clevo part number of which escapes me right now.

Where are you from? Depends on your location but i wouldn't go for SLI since its not widely supported like single cards are and the price you pay for them is not worth it

source: Already had 2 SLi Clevo's and trust me... not worth it

    Had a P375SM with dual 780M and a P377SM-A with dual 880M

Now i got what is in my signature :)

I'm so sorry for not replying here - My notifications are out of wack!!!! Here's an update!

Nice rig! And thanks for confirming about the SLI. I'm from the US, but after doing a bit of research myself I saw your point and decided to look for a single GPU setup. :)

To clarify I've been looking for a 1080 capable laptop with a 144hz screen that's also able to run with the intel i7 8600k chipset. I talked with Donald at Hidevolution and He reccomended me a great setup, and I LOVE the ability to have some extra cooling on my next laptop and the fact that they come with Prema mod installed. Butttttt as I mentioned with him, the cost of getting a Clevo laptop with both a i7 and a GTX 1080 was just way too high for me right now (Was looking to spend $2500-$2600 on the setup).

My last laptop was from XoticPC and the fact that going with them was not only $800 dollars cheaper for a laptop of the same build, but turns out that you guys also have a loyalty program!??!?!?! I literally had no idea about this which saved me a bit more money (Which I highly recommend to anyone who has bought from Xotic. Take advantage of your loyalty discount!) I'll probably be missing out on the delidded temps, but seeing as my last laptop from them is 4 years old now and still going strong, and I've undervolted and installed Prema mod on my PC myself on this old laptop I have now (which has been running 7 degrees cooler without any of the fancy heat sinks or exotic thermal compound), I can't shake the feeling that I could save a few bucks having it come in bare bones and add the mods to it that I would otherwise pay for at HID. So I made the decision and went with Xotic for the build... This time.

Nothing against Hidevolution of course, I think they're an awesome company! I just feel that I'm getting more value with Xotic's config and doing it myself for what I've been searching for.

So fast forward to now, I went with the SAGER NP9175 (CLEVO P775TM-G) With the following setup including the price I paid (Note that the processor says i7 8700 and I have the copper cooling upgrade. Please ignore that, I told them to cancel the upgrade and give me the i7 8700k, which costed me an mere extra 45 bucks to replace.):

Overall I'm aware that this is probably not the best setup for the price point. But After days of searching I think it's not the worst either. My plan is to get with Prema (hopefully if he has the time!) and see if he can set me up with a bios download once it arrives. But other than that Now what I'm looking for is the best Ram and m.2 SSD for this particular model. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
