    1. Is there no way to enable g-sync and use Intel graphics card for other applications? I want my Nvidia to run solely for my games.

    2. How do I overclock my display (and others, maybe) properly? I can only overclock it till 63hz then it goes [IMG]

    No, to both questions.

Your system is Optimus, meaning the Intel HD is in control of the output to the display, even if the Nvidia card is active. Problem is that Intel does not support/permit custom refresh rates (yet), which is what you need for both g-sync and Hz overclocking. Strange thing is that this is not a bandwidth issue; the HD 530 supports much higher refresh rates (otherwise it couldn't run eDP 1.3), so this is strictly a software limitation.

Recall that even customising the display firmware didn't help (embed, say, 75 Hz as native). But if you're willing to give that a try; copy/paste the 'Raw data' section from MonInfo and we could make a customised version. Perhaps the trick is to leave 60 Hz out of it altogether, so Intel HD has no choice but to use the 75 Hz.

So there's no way to use both Intel and g-sync at the same time? Can't I use Nvidia for my display so that g-sync would work?

Edit: How do I send the ISO that I got from MonInfo?

No you can't use Intel and GSync at same time... It's one or the other!

No need; just select and copy/paste the data:

I should not have bought the Intel CPU!!! (Or at least downgraded it to the least possible)

That's an IPS, which doesn't give it a lot of leeway. Yet it's also g-sync approved, so should be able to run 75 Hz at minimum. Flash this custom edid (instructions here) and you might be able to run it at either 75 or 85 Hz, regardless of whether nvidia (or g-sync) are active.

Will try it later cuz I don't have my USB (I'll borrow from my classmate). Or is it possible to store in my phone's memory and run it from there?

Are there other stuff that I can read before flashing it? I have no idea how to do it and it seems hard basing from what I have read on the instructions but I will still try it later.

I tried it but the instructions were unclear to me. I ended up on the installation of Lubuntu but my screen display is double and it looks a bit like my first photo from the 1st post

Hm, well ... it is not an easy process, but if you read and follow the instructions step-by-step then it will work. No need to install lubuntu, though; use the ' try without installing' option. The live version has access to the local hdd, so copy/paste the 'LGD046F_mod.bin' from there to the proper EDID folder once you've booted.

Normally you'd use something like CRU to get the same result, but that does not work when the Intel gpu is in charge. The CRU option is a 'soft' override, flashing the edid is a low-level approach; the lcd will truly report itself as being a genuine 75 Hz display (which it is).

I did use the 'try without installing' option but my laptop shut down and I have to press the power button again to turn it on so I tried installing it but I can't read every part of it.

Here's the steps that I did. Downloaded both files (zip of the edid I think, and Lubuntu), recover the .bin file to the USB, booted using the USB and chose the option to try without installing.

On the upper left corner after booting, it says failed to load something something I forgot what

    PS: I'm on discrete mode
