    Hi all,

I'm pretty new to SSDs, and I'm confused about which type of SSD to get - my Sager came without an OS and had the option M.2 Slot 1 Preconfigured as an OS Drive ( Operating System – Drive C: ) / M.2 Slot 2 ( Storage Drive )

So I was wondering which SSD to get, should I get this mSATA or this M2 SSD?

    Thanks for all the input!!

You want a M2 SSD.. Not mSATA which won't work...

Ya the M.2 you picked is a pretty good one. We've had a lot of luck with the 850 EVO's so that's always my preference :)

The 850 evo is consistent and cool running, I use a pair in my personal machine.

As well as the 850, you could go with a faster m.2 PCIe drive in one of the slots as well. But yes, I'd agree to generally stick with Samsung m.2s right now.

The faster PCI-E type do run hotter like he said, but the 850 evo is there if people are worried too.

The only downside i'll grant is the lack of 1TB drives, however a lot of M.2 slots can be converted to mSATA ;)

Hopefully we will be seeing M.2 1TB drives in the coming months!!! I agree it's a big downside right now even though it is the standard in almost all PC's!
