Hello, just wondering from all you Sager NP5793's owners if the touchpad on this laptop is at all like HP's touch pads. I call them(HP's) sticky because if you even have alittle sweat or oil on your finger, the touch pad is hard to use.
I am considering buying this model and have not had the opportunity to see one in real life.
So to sum it up, Does Sager NP5793 have a smooth gliding touch pad =)?
Thanks for any help.
note: I posted this in another forum, but got directed here .

I had a 5793 for about a week before i returned it for the more powerful 9262. While i had it i thought the touchpad was smooth. I had 2 problems with it. I kept getting shocked bad when i touched it, i assumed this was due to the fingerprint reader. (i have read other threads about this here) I also kept getting the left/right scroll feature i think i was pulling my finger down to much on the pad. The 9262 is absent the fingerprint reader (although i really liked that feature) so no shocky shocky anymore and although i haven't checked out the dimmensions to see if the touchpad on the 9262 is bigger i no longer have problems with the autoscroll feature turning on when i don't want it to. Just my 2 cents.

The touchpad is above average, not your best one, but has a certain soft touch to it and it is not slippery, even if you sweat a bit lol -

Well, it also depends on what HP laptops we are talking about.
By comparing my bussiness class HP with my Sager, the Sager is just about as good in the touchpad as the HP, but a bit behind.
Bussiness class laptops are made for heavy endurance, whereas a gaming laptops is more inclined towards performance. Not that the build quality wouldn`t be just as close -

I was referring to the consumer HP touchpads for the record, like the ones you find in Best Buy.

The pavilion series, I know what you mean.
To be honest though, I don`t use the touchpad unless on battery mode. ButI like the fact the when you push the buttons you have to apply a bit of pressure and that the touchpad is not slippery at all. Although it`s not the best in the world, it does the job nicely. -
Great thanks for the info! =D

IMO, the touchpad on mine is better than that of the ones on my dads Precision M90

TBH, my experience with the M570RU touchpad, havent been to the downside
As Chaz says, it has a texture feel and make your fingers "stick" to it, not just slide over it as most laptops ive owned/used tends to doAll in all, it does its job, better than my old Acer and Fujitsu
