So I ordered my NP8662 from XoticPC. I did the eCheck which cleared on Friday. They say it's on for configuration and burn-in. How long does this process usually take? Do they work over weekends? I'm just a little anxious to get it, but would like to know a realistic time frame. Thanks!

I dont think they work weekends mate id guess you might have it shipped by the end of the week for a early the following week arrival...just speculation though.
-
took less than a week for the burn-in and testing phase for me.
-
Its withen the 14 working days time they say. The longest part for me was the shipping, it went from a 30 minutes drive away, to far away, back to my house.

Ok, great. A gift middle to end of next week then. I guess I'll just have to wait!

Make sure you get plenty of sleep the night prior to UPS delivering your notebook, htwingnut. I can guarantee you that you won't be getting any sleep the night you receive your M860TU. It will blow you away.

Hopefully not blown away by overheating problems. Just noticed a post about the HDD's running at 60C and causing some issues.

I had my laptop custom skinned so it took a bit longer for the configuration part. Overall the process should take about 2 and a half weeks at max (I got mine in 2 weeks with a custom skin and 3 day shipping). They do not work on weekends, so when it shows the estimated business days, don't count the weekends. I just got my NP8662 and have been using it for the past month. I can tell you it is a pretty awesome laptop. To my knowledge the laptop does get hot if I put it on my lap, but it never overheats.

LOL. It shipped today, due to be here on Friday! That was fast. I think because I had a relatively common configuration they probably have several already set up that way and just fulfill the order when it comes through.

nice one mate.........so we probably wont see you around here over the weekend...enjoy it when it arrives mate.

I sure will. If my little sons will let me play with it. I basically care for them all day, go to school two nights a week, and study the other nights. I'm sure I'll find time to play around with it! It's gonna replace my Lenovo U330 which I've been using as my primary laptop.
