    Hi all,

I'm thinking about buying a Clevo M570RU-U from Novatech here in the UK. I love the spec and my question is regarding the DVI output. I was curious as to wether this laptop supports the extension of the desktop onto an external monitor, or if it only supports mirroring. The only reason i ask is that its nice to have one screen for movies, webmail etc, and another to actually work on.

If anoyone has an aswer to this i would be most grateful. By the way, in this country Novatech call it an X80R.

    Thanks again all.

    Ollie

yes the DVI output can do DualView (mirror) or Extend the Desktop using... Nvidia Control Panel.

And you can connect it using HDMI if you want, get a cheap DVI-to-HDMI adapter.

And yes, you can even connect it to the ultra high-resolution WQXGA (2560x1600) screens since this notebook has Dual Link DVI.

You know , I never bothered asking or searching, does it have a HDMI port? cause it looks like it, but I don`t have any dvi to hdmi or hdmi-hdmi cable to hook it up to the TV, since I heard it ports the sound also ?(would be nice to run games at 720p on the tv instead of 1024x768)

    Nevermind, there isn`t a HDMI port :(

Will it port the sound also or will it just port the image?

Nevermind, scooped around, IT WILL NOT port the sound , just the image.

    Just the image.

As for sound, you can use whatever method you want to connect to you TV or Receiver...
    - analog stereo 2CH: using 3.5mm to two RCA cables/connectors
    - digital 6ch or 8CH: using 3.5mm to one RCA cable (SPDIF)
