Okay, so I recently found a new apartment here in Costa Rica and I'm currently sharing a 2 meg connection with 6 people. This is driving me crazy and I've been looking at some options to get dedicated internet just got myself. The best option seems to be buying a usb datacard from one of the companies here and this is the fastest option for the datacards...
Unlimited downloads with a speed of 2048 / 384 kbps for $27 per month. Now, I know that 2048 basically would be 2 megs for myself. The numbers which are confusing me a little bit are the second numbers they mentioned (384 kbps). What would these numbers mean as far as the speed is concerned? I could ask them but their offices are closed at this time and their customer service sucks anyways. So do you guys know what that would mean? Thanks for the help!

The numbers they gave you- 2048/384- generally refer to download compared to upload. Basically, you'll get 2Mb/s download speeds, but your max upload speed will be .384Mb/s. If you were running an FTP server or something at home, you'd be more likely to notice that difference.

Okay, that's actually a pretty decent deal then I guess. Especially considering if you buy that particular plan they give you the datacard for free along with the contract. Shall I go for it?
