Usually you can change the hard drive you want to boot from within the bios, the bios for the 9262 has a boot section and you can move the listed devices to change which device you boot from but it looks like you can't change which hard drive to boot from. In the past I've had issues while running a dual boot setup and using the OS's bootloader where if one OS gets hosed it can make it so you can no long load up any OS you have installed.

To get around this I will install one hard drive on the system, install an OS and get it setup then take that drive out and repeat the process installing another OS. After I'm done I put all drives back in and I can select which OS I want to boot up by changing the drive to boot from in the bios. I bought the 9262 because it had three hard drive bays (there's lots of other reasons why I bought it too :) ), I could use one hard drive for Vista 64 one for XP Pro and the third for games and storage.

So I set it up like I usually do one drive at a time install OS and so on and once I was done I put all three drives in. Only problem is I can't select which hard drive to boot from, it'll only boot from the drive on SATA 1. Am I missing something here? I know the bios is basic because they don't want people OC'ing and messing with settings but taking out the ability to select which drive to boot from seems a bit overboard as far as simplifying bios setup. And taking out and moving hard drives around just to go from Vista to XP really isn't something I want to be doing. Any suggestions?

    thanks

Getting a boot manager might help you out. I think Acronis Disk Director has one.

    Thanks! I'll look into it.

Is there any hope that a new bios might come out with drive selection enabled? :D

Im actually surprised that they dont have one. But in reference to your question, you should probably ask the Manufacturer.
