Question for 8690 users (gaming, nvidia 280m gtx)

Hey guys, i got a question.

I have:
820qm
280m gtx 1gb
4 gb rams
250 gb 5400rpm

Any of u guys play Fear 2? or have DMC4?

For fear 2, what's the average fps u guys are getting for max everything. V-sync on, 1920x1080, x4, etc. MAXXED. I've been averaging about 26-34 fps, is this what I should be getting? becuase for some reason, i feel that it should have a higher fps.

And for DMC4

On the benchmark (again max everything, dx9) do u guys average 60fps in the first scene and like 55-60fps average, dips down to 48 fps in certain frames, in the second scene?

I just wanna know, b/c i feel like i had better performance in the m860tu

 

What graphic driver do you use?

 

i use 186.81

 

Sounds about right.

 

I believe you're underestimating how taxing 4xAA @ 1080p is on the 280M, or any GPU for that matter. Don't expect higher than what you're getting.

 

oh okay, cool. it's prolly b/c i saw the benchmark test review on xoticpc.com with the DMC4 and he averaged about 90+fps on the test. Just wanted to make sure. Also, when you play games on the pc, do you have this weird lag stutter?

Like, every 1-2 minute or so, I have these lil short interval of frame skipping. I don't know what the problem is. But I'm guessing it might be due to my harddrive. if u guys know anything, please let me know.

 

Sorry, a little off topic question:

i was looking at temperatures from benchmarks on the Intel® Core™ i7-820QM in the 8690 and i noticed that they were mid to high 80's like 82-83 for 3dmark06 and 87-89's for crysis benches.... is this not dangerously high for this processor? http://www.xoticpcforums.com/showthread.php?t=5084

Are these proc's actually okay until 100 degrees?
