When you got your machine, does it come with the "Rebuild initial Setup" partition like the other brands do (dell, aw, etc). Meaning, if you start messing with your setup, are you able to revert back to the original factory settings? If not, did you back up the initial state of your machine with a ghost like program? If so which one?

I am just trying to prepare for my new arrival, and was wondering if I need to get something that can back up the initial state of the machine, or if Sager provides something like this.

The system does not come with a factory recover partition, but if you can always make a cd backup. Unlike other brands, you actually get a driver cd, which makes doing a reinstall extremely easy. The only problem that you might have is, since you have 2 hdd I'm assuming you will have them in raid. Getting raid to run can be a little tricky for a first time user.

Thanks All. Happy camper yet again. Now thats the way to do it Sager. Just give me the op/sys CDs. I personally don't like the way big names do it. You just get a partition with "their" personalized version of the op/sys. Some give "respawn" CDs.

I much prefer the plain ole opsys and a driver disk anyday. Should be only a few hours now till I actually get to play with mine. Tracking says its "out for delivery". I'm still amazed. I only ordered this Monday.

The big names do what they do in order to the keep the bloatware and other programs that waste space installed on the system. There is a benefit to this....it helps them keep their prices down. All those excess programs helped pay for the computer. This is why lappies sold by the Sager resellers seem to be more expensive, they have not sold their souls yet :D At least that is my take on it.
