I recently received my D901C and while I'm happy with the laptop I did notice one pixel on my screen seems to be stuck and it's usually brighter than the others on certain appplications or games. I've heard of "dead" pixels where they are just dark but mine is just on and not changing color. Is there anything I can do myself to "fix" it or maybe make it dark? I'd rather have it dark than showing color that never changes. I bought this laptop from Eurocom and the warrenty says they won't replace a screen unles there are 10 or more "dead" pixels. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

I think you should not worry. It is only 1 dead pixel and you will not get more (it is not like a disease).

    @lozanogo:

It didn't sound like the OP is worried about more showing up...just that he'd like to get rid of it if at all possible, since it's a spot of colour, not darkness, which makes it a little more distracting.

You know, I've had stuck pixels and I have had about a 50% success rate with using this method:

Basically, I just took a microfiber cloth, and rubbed the area where the dead pixel is with moderate force, and believe it or not, it became unstuck.

You can try this if you want, just be careful. If it doesn't come out, don't push so hard that you break your screen trying to get it to work.

    Hopefully this makes sense.

thain1982 is correct. I'm not concerned about more showing up. I'd just rather have it completely dark if possible. It is really noticable on a dark screen.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to try both methods to see if they will work.

    Thanks!

I had this happen on my D900K as soon as I opened the box for the first time...

I tried all those things and it didn't work...

If you change the background to a light background.. You will barely notice it..
Also in there warranty to they specify the location of where it is?

    This might make a difference...

From now on I will always buy the dead-pixel warranty... I rather have the piece of mind...

I have owned 3 Toshiba's, 4 Sony's, 1 Avertec, 1 Asus, and this one. 2 of the toshibas had a dead pixel in month the avertec had 1, one of the sonys so far I am doing pretty good with this one. (fingers crossed as I type this) Unforutantly it happens it just not one brand although a lot use the same brand LCD's for their laptops.

Well, I had every intention to try the two methods detailed from thain1982 and lmark84l but my "stuck" pixel turned to "dead" on my next start-up. Now, in order to see it I really have to look and it's not nearly as noticable as it being on without changing color. This I can live with.

    Thanks again for everyone's input.
