    Question regarding gpu temps

    Hi everyone.

I recently bought a cheap used W76TUN (Sager NP7650, if I'm not mistaken) with a few problems, like a cracked screen, dead hdd, power brick missing, etc., but which I managed to rebuild. It the following main specs:

    T4200 CPU
    Geforce G105M
    4GB 667 RAM

As for repairing, I found a 1366x768 glossy screen (replacing the cracked matte one), and a 500gb 5400rpm WD hdd. OK, not exactly the powerhouse you'd expect from Clevo, but I was only looking for web browsing, movie watching, and the occasional light game, so this suits my needs quite well.

    Now for my question:

One thing I noticed is the gpu constantly heating up, without the fan kicking in. From what I found, the fan on this model reacts only to the cpu temp, so I had manually enable it. It was almost 80ºC when I did, then dropping to around 60º.
I have to say I ripped the thermal pad when I disassembling the notebook, so I thought that was the cause. Ordered some EK waterblock pads, and installed one (saving another for the chipset, if needed). To my surprise, it still heats up at the same pace, altough I did lower my temp to steady 52º with the fan always on setting.
Since this is my first Clevo, I'm still unsure if this is normal or not. I previously owned a Toshiba A300D which could maintain steady 45º for both gpu and cpu (ATI M. Radeon 3470 and AMD Turion RM70 undervolted), without me intervening, so I'm obviously a little worried about this. I see people getting around 50º gpu temp with the exact same notebook, however without knowing if the fan is set to Slow (always on at low speeds), or Normal (Auto-adjusting), the only two settings avaliable.
So my question to you Clevo owners is: Is this normal? Do I always have to change the fan settings, or in the other hand, something is wrong?

ps: I have 35º on idle for the cpu, nothing to worry about. Also, cpu and gpu have separate heatsinks, if that helps.

edit: I forgot to mention, all the temps are when idling.

Since I got no replies, I'll just bump the topic with a little update: I noticed the fan, with the CPU on load, was spinning much faster before I installed the video drivers (fan set to auto). Needless to say, I already tried a few different drivers, with no results.
