I'm planning to get a Clevo p750tm1-g with gtx1070(actually placed an order today from a local reseller ). When I asked about the graphics card he said that it comes directly from Nvidia. I saw many posts about MSI cards and some(negative) about gecube but nothing about the cards directly from Nvidia. So I have a few questions,
1, Is this similar to the reference cards in desktop?
2, How do they fare(performances, temps) when compared to other cards(say MSI)?
Even if the info you have doesn't answer these questions any misc details are welcome![]()
Edit: It's a desktop grade card, not the MAX-Q version

- Performance wise yes, specs wise no. The mobile GTX 1070 has a lower power limit (115W/125W instead of 150W) which causes it to boost lower, but performance is on-par with the stock desktop Founder's Edition because the mobile version has an additional SM (128 CUDA cores).
- The Clevo card should be slightly faster since the current generation is 125W, while the MSI card is 115W. Temps depends on cooling and will vary from system to system.

I was specifically told that the card they sell is not the MAX-Q version. Does this change anything(WRT to the points you mentioned above)? -

The gecube/msi/undisclosed maxq thing only applies to aftermarket cards (upgrades) not those that come already in it when you buy a complete unit.
