How easy is to swap out screens and then swap them back. I ask because my friend would like to do some tests and if its not a super pain in the butt that would be great.

It's fairly easy to do and does not need the entire thing to be taken apart. Couple of screws, remove bezel and you are in at the screen assembly.

You could easily make a mistake and damage it however which would not be covered under warranty.

If you need to swap the display cable the procedure is more involved.

There's the standard 1080p60 cable and the upgraded higher bandwidth cable for the 3K/120hz 4K/60hz panels - depends on whether OP is talking swapping same models for test or for upgrade

Full step by step: (predecessor P870DMG but should be extremely similar):

What screen do you have now? What screen are you planning to upgrade to?
