I see 3 models of it. The GT, GTS, and GTX. What are the increases between the 3 and how much more powerful then the 8800 GTX?
I am trying to figure out which laptop I will be purchasing. The 860 or the 5796

GTS, 8800 GTX = GT, GTX
Dont know specifics till official specs and people are able to do benchmarks. -
oh not again. anyway,
9800m GTS < 8800m gtx = 9800m gt = 9800m gtx + 0.25(9800m GT) -
What was the point of releasing a new line if its going to be roughly similar inperformance?
Also, I am going to be a student a Loomis Chaffee Prep school next year. How do I go upon getting a student discount at Xotic? -

Meh, I just hope the specs come out soon... -
Matthewrs_Rahl, before you disagree with me, let's see what Neil said.

It seems goofy to me as well, but it goes GTS then GT then GTX

*Scratches head in confusion*
Are we all in disagreement, then? Ha-ha?
If GT is better than GTX, though. Then why are the 9800 GTX cards so much more costly (+365) than the 9800 GT cards? It's not like they vary in DirectX# or DDR#. 1GB (GTX) vs 512MB (GT), though. -

no, we all know that the GTX is king but usually the GTS is better than the GT is what people are saying

@Matthewrs_Rahl
You are still not getting it. They rank this way:
1. Fastest = GTX
2. Faster = GT
3. Fast = GTS -
No, you are the only one got confused here.
what paladin44 meant was GTS < GT < GTX -

sorry if my post was confusing. I think that the GTS "was" usually faster than GT right? but I know that the GT is now faster than the GTS.

Sorry. I misinterpreted your statement Paladin, thought you meant it the other way around. My mistake. I agree with your statement, then.
*sits in a corner and reprimands himself for reading too quickly*
Now to wait for the arrival/testing, hrmm.
Don't hate me for this next question, but... I don't see why the motherboard may need a revision for SLI GTX. Had the impression from previous readings that it was fairly straight forward to just add the 2nd one in. Ah well. I don't doubt the info, anyhow. -

Very confusing I agree. I have no idea why nVIDIA changed their naming convention.
