Questions Regarding New Releases

Lets use this thread to ask questions we have about the new systems being released to Justin and Donald. Lets not flood this with count down things.. just questions. So lets start posting them at 12:01 EST / 11:01 CST / 9:01 PST.

K 3 minutes to release, questions that i had in mind.
1. How quiet is the quiet/power saving button. Is it quieter than the current fn+1 low auto / fn + 3 med?
2. Are there still the OC limitations or are all the processors OC'able through bios now.

Those are my main questions for now.

 

so there is no 8800m on NP8660!!!!!!!!!!!um, PCMW orders? hmm.......

 

so for those who pre-ordered 5796 with 8800m gtx, which card will they receive? GT or GTX?

 

Since these are going to be sent out with the 9800gt do you guys have any performance comparisons to the 8800gtx, would be sad if the 9800gt performs less than the 8800gtx.

How reliable is the ETA of the 9800mgtx hopefully these eta's arent like pcmw's

9800m gt might be it for now, but what if I want to upgrade to the 9800m gtx? Actually, lets wait and see what our orders morph into. If it turns into a 9800m gt, then I would definately opt for the upgrade. Only time will tell

 

Is there a 8800m gt? Or is it 8800m gtx vs. 9800m gt?

People seem to be saying the 8800m GTX is comparable to the 9800m GT. I haven't been able to locate any benchmark comparissons (I'm sure they are out there) to determine this.

What I'd really like to know is how the 9800m GTX compares to the 9800m GT? As well as if a single 9800m GTX purchase will be upgradable to SLI?

I think it's safe to say we're all a bit excited and wanting to know more right now. The fan question is certainly a good one, too!

 

I apologize if this has already been answered or asked a million times but what is the rough ship date of the 8660, I have heard late July/early August and also that the units won't be coming in until early August.

 

Best list I can find is this, but that information is old. It doesn't include any of the 9xxx cards. :/

 

I would also like to know what original 8800m GTX pre-orderers will receive. Please Justin and Donald answer from both sides. I'm assuming it will be the equivalent 9800m GT but it would be oh such a nice surprise if it was the 9800m GTX but i'm not getting my hopes up.

I preordered a 8800mgtx too. Although looking at the different prices, having the 9800mgt (transitioned from 8800gtx to 9800gt) is around $200 decrease. I'm thinking of upgrading my CPU and add the turbo memory.
