Hi, I'm looking into buying a Sager NP2096 and i have some questions regarding it:

    1. Is there going to be a version coming out soon with an updated Nvidia graphics processor?

    2. Is the extended warranty worth it?

    3. Should I order it directly from Sager or through xoticpc?

    1. Very unlikely. The NP2096 already runs on the hot side with the 9600m. I emailed Compal and they echoed the sentiment.

    2. Up to you. Wasn't worth it to me.

    3. Whichever is cheaper. They're both good vendors.

As mentioned, it is unlikely that there will be an update anytime soon and the extended warranty is definitely not worth it. I can see the extended warranty being beneficial on really expensive laptops but it would be a waste for a notebook like this.

As for your last question, I would strongly recommend XoticPC over Sager, mainly due to their superb customer service. Their prices are almost always cheaper as well.

The extended warranty is good if you have really bad luck with electronic devices suddenly just giving out on you, or if you're a complete klutz.

I'd also recommend going through XoticPC.

    Thank you.

Another question: what about gaming benchmarks for the NP2096 (or the 9600 graphics chip)? I'm interested in whether it can play today's games very well (especially Crysis)
