    1. Do the SAGER NP5791 and/or NP9260(1) have swappable optical drives?
i.e. Will there be an option to upgrade to HD-DVD or Blu-Ray at some point? if so can a user swap it out?

    2. How easily can the user really upgrade the graphics cards when they become available?

    3. When do the 9260's ship?

    1) the HD-DVD and Blu-ray drives are available already. Since they are so expensive, most vendors do not give the option usually. If you want the drive, you must contact the vendor to special order and they will install it for you.

    2) for the new Clevo's... pretty painless... 4 screws (as long as you are comfortable with working in a notebook environment).

    3) it should be immediate... although its best to contact the vendor/reseller to get the more accurate timeline.

The 7950 GPUs are on back order until end of September... so they definitely won't ship immediately.

If it goes like previous back orders, then we'll be lucky if it ships by end of September. I ordered mine last week so I'm keenly interested in the current situation.

With regards to changing out components, the Clevo manuals are the first I've seen that actually show you how to disassemble your notebook. Everyone who's considering buying a Clevo should always read the manual first... why wouldn't you? You're going to spend thousands of dollars, you should at least research your purchase first!

Can someone quantify how much the HD-DVD drives are? I am considering the 9261 and would be interested in knowing how extra it would cost.

depending if you want an HD DVD-Rom or HD-DVD-RW

you can look up the prices in Newegg usually.

or contact the vendor for pricing.

What does that have to do with the original post in this topic? :)

Also just check out the distributors that offer one like pcmicroworks.com.
