    For some reason, I'm just not finding this in any specs... What sort of material is the case made from on a Clevo/Sager NP8170? Plastic, metal, etc? And does the keyboard have backlighting?

    I believe its a rubberized plastic and the keyboard has no back lighting.

    You can have a general understanding from http://www.pro-star.com/index.cfm?mainpage=review&reviewmodel=P170HM(read under Build & Design). Also you'd rather visit Clevo P170HM owners lounge to get the most detailed info from the users.
    Keyboard doesn't have back-lighting, but it was mentioned by some of the Sager reseller to include it later this summer...
