Hi all. I don't have many posts here but you might have seen my recent thread where I had to RMA my NP5793/M57RU-U because of a video card failure. I'm not sure if this was due to the recent Nvidia GPU flaws that have been announced but the card died and in about a week I had my system back with a new one!

Anyway. After going through something like that I'm buying the extended warranty for my laptop. The full 3 year one. I only originally purchased the 1 year warranty so I'm glad I can still upgrade. My question is, when I go to buy it...it wants me to pay for shipping on this item. Am I actually going to be sent something? Documents perhaps? I've never purchased a warranty online before...anyone have any experience with this?

I've never purchased an online warranty, but seeing how it should be somewhat similar to other purchases, in my opinion as long as you receive an order confirmation number, you should be alright.

Your confirmation number acts as an invoice. Print it out and you have your receipt.

Perhaps someone else might be able to help you further regarding online warranty purchases.

that's weird, sager is supposed to pay for both way shipping, unless you are located outside of US.

Just call them up and ask.

I'd call up and ask - that may very well just be an artifact of their ordering system, which probably isn't set up to make exceptions for things like warranties that do not require heavy-duty shipping; on the other hand, if they send you the documents via FedEx or other courier service, then that'll be more expensive (and safer) than a 43-cent stamp from USPS.
