Alright, I'm about to be the almost proud owner of one of these babies. However, in order to be fully proud I must paint it myself. My plan is to go all out glossy reflective black on the case with this image

in either the natural case color, non reflective black, or mirror looking chrome on the top of the case. (That is a stencil by my favourite street/stencil artist, Banksy by the way.) The thing is, in order to paint the case I must first remove everything from the case, including the screen. So I was curious to see if anyone who owns a 5320 or one with the same case design has ever taken their case off, and to find out if there is anything I should look out for beside the obvious video card being attached to the screen and keyboard being a hassle. What really worries me is the clock on the front, I'm hoping there aren't any strange wire configurations to be found there that would prevent me from removing the case without breaking something. So if anyone has taken the case off for a look, or (even better) removed the entire casing and can tell me how to do it and what to watch out for (that isnt obvious) that would be awesome! (pictures would be even better!)

Sounds like an interesting project for sure. ;)

I own a 5320. The only parts of it that I have removed are the bottom two panels in order to access the memory and hard drive. In my reivew, I posted pictures of it.

I have to say - I think you are going to have a difficult time doing this, as you may already know. The lid of the 5320 is metallic, so that part may be a bit difficult to paint. Everything else should not be as difficult, considering it is ABS plastic.

I know VoodooPC paints the 5720, not sure if they offer the 5320. HyperSonic as well. You may want to use some of their painted models as a guide on how to do yours.

    Cheers,

Painting metal will be no problem, especially since I wont have to sand any paint off of it. I know how to paint pretty well, I'm going to use the process they take to paint cars, only with spraypaints. I was more concerned with any strange wiring or anything, I know in my dell there was a bit of a weird wire configuration when I took the metal casing under the plastic off and I almost ripped some wires out, so I guess I'll just move everything slowly and I should be fine.
