I ordered an np8662 from sager. Later I'm thinking of upgrading to a quadcore, but I happened to look at the bottom of my laptop, its labeled a clevo m860tu. So did i receive the incorrect laptop or is it just improperly labeled?

The same applies for the M860TU. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5241396&postcount=669
You need to find out when your M860TU was manufactured and what motherboard revision it is equipped with. You can find the revision number under your RAM slots. -
Ah, thanks Soviet for your ever correct and prompt info. Guess I'll check when i get back home.

in theory np8660 = m860tu and np8662 = m860etu... however most of the time the "e" is left out by clevo for some obscure reason.

Adding the "E" would not follow suit with Clevo's naming scheme for their notebooks. That's why they did not add it. Like I said, the "E" is just added by the unofficials to distinguish between motherboard revisions. As for Sager's naming scheme, the pilot M860TU was sold as the NP8660 and the updated version of the M860TU was sold as the NP8662, so you are correct.
