So, on the lpc-digital website, it says that there are the new NP9170, NP9150, etc. But it also says that there are new models coming soon.

The things that are largely making me hold off on purchasing a laptop are that I dislike the lack of a matte screen on the NP9170(Which is the model I am currently interested in) and also the fact that only one of the USB3 ports is powered.

Is it true that new models are coming soon? Will this issues be addressed?

Also, does anybody know if the $15.00 windows 8 upgrade offer is available on the sagers made by the resellers?

Well.... That thing looks mighty impressive. I wonder if there will be any other new models, and what they will cost?

If that thing would be in my price range.... I would wait ages

Other resellers such as powernotebooks and xoticpc offer the matte screen on the NP9170. Other than that I see no use in waiting for the next model. I don't see the USB thing as a real problem, but if it is maybe the next model will have more powered USB ports.

I would say the Windows 8 offer may apply here, however it depends if Windows 7 is OEM or not on these laptops. "To qualify, Windows 7 PCs must be purchased between June 2, 2012, and Jan. 31, 2013, and have a valid Windows 7 OEM Certificate of Authenticity and product key."

On the resellers I looked at, the Windows 7 install discs come with the laptop. I am guessing resellers use retail discs, but maybe they do use OEM discs. I guess it is a good question to ask before you buy. Xoticpc includes the message " Upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $14.99 (Directly through Microsoft)" next to the Windows 7 OS options on the NP9170.

As the P370 has not officially been announced and everything is currently just speculation, I would urge you to get a model that is known and currently available rather than waiting on something that could potentially be a sort of vaporware.

To tell, check the Product ID in your computer's properties, if it's something like xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxx well, you've got an OEM version. You CoA sticker should also yield cues, the OEM ones are different from retail iirc.

Right, and how big of a difference can it really be?

But, if you don't need a new laptop right away, it couldn't hurt to wait to get what you really want?

That is kind of what I am thinking. My only worry is that this lag with production will last for a while.
